Out of State Buyers

Out-of-State Vehicle Purchase Policy & Procedures

Ensuring a smooth, compliant, and secure buying experience across state lines.

Policy Overview

This policy outlines our official procedures for handling out-of-state vehicle purchases. Our goal is to maintain strict compliance with state and federal regulations while providing a smooth experience for our customers. To ensure the highest level of security, we send a notary directly to your home for identity-safe paperwork. We also handle all state title and registration processing on your behalf-saving you time and avoiding trips to the DMV.

Shipping of Vehicles

  • Shipping Arrangements: We confirm delivery details, coordinate with approved carriers, and provide shipping costs and estimated timeframes.
  • Shipping Confirmation: Customers receive email confirmation, tracking information, and an expected delivery date once shipping is scheduled.

Pricing and Rebates

  • Rebates & Incentives: These do not apply to pre-owned vehicles.
  • Price Adjustments: Customers receive written quotes that include all applicable fees, taxes, shipping, and handling costs.

Taxes

  • Tax Calculation: We calculate tax based on the customer's home state. Reciprocal states pay home-state tax only; non-reciprocal states may require Georgia's 7% tax as well.
  • Tax Collection: All taxes are collected before finalizing the sale.
  • Double-Tax States: States like Arkansas, Mississippi, and West Virginia may require additional tax obligations, which will be explained to customers.

Vehicle Registration

  • Registration Requirements: We verify all home-state requirements, emissions standards, and compliance regulations.
  • Processing: We handle title and registration paperwork, including lender-required lien information.
  • Document Submission: We collect proof of insurance, driver's license, and any transfer documents.
  • Processing Time: Our goal is to complete registration within 45 days of receiving all required documents.

Financing

  • Accepted Funding: Drafts, letters of credit, and "funds on hold" are not accepted for out-of-state purchases.
  • Dealership Financing: We offer financing through approved lenders and assist customers through the full process.
  • Outside Financing: Customers using their own bank or credit union must complete all steps before the vehicle can be released.

Insurance & Documentation

  • Insurance Requirements: Customers must provide insurance matching the vehicle's VIN and state requirements.
  • Documentation Matching: All documents must match the purchase and registration address.

Handling Delays & Additional Fees

  • Estimated Fees: We provide upfront estimates of all local, county, and state fees.
  • Additional Requirements: Customers may be contacted for additional documents or fees required by their home state.

Compliance & Review

  • Compliance Checks: We routinely review procedures to ensure adherence to regulations.
  • Staff Training: Employees receive ongoing training on out-of-state purchase requirements.
  • Customer Feedback: Feedback is collected regularly to improve processes and customer experience.

This policy ensures a smooth, compliant, and transparent process for all out-of-state vehicle purchases. All staff members must follow these guidelines without deviation.
